Typically, Queensland Government employees have their default superannuation contribution set at 5% of their salary. Through salary packaging, this 5% standard contribution is deducted from your salary before tax, potentially reducing your taxable income.
And if you wish to further increase your retirement fund, you can choose to make super contributions in addition to your default contribution amount, noting the total annual limit of $30,000 (including your employer’s contribution of up to 12.75%) before excess contributions tax becomes payable.
